Every winter,Pack 48 organizes a charity Hit-a-thon at Bobby Valentine’s Sports Academy in Stamford.  The boys from the pack solicit donations for a worthy cause and then swing away in the batting cages to earn those donations.  We then present the proceeds to a worthy community organization.

2008 –Our 2008 Hit-a-thon allowed the Pack to present a hand-made “Fun Cart”to the pediatrics wing of Stamford Hospital.  The $5000 raised allowed the Pack to outfit the cart with video game systems,DVD players, and assorted media to ease the burden of children experiencing extended stays at the hospital.

2009 –The 2009 Hit-a-thon raised nearly $4000 that was presented to the Circle of Care foundation that supports families with children who have cancer.

2010 –In 2010,Pack 48 raised over $5000 to re-launch the Stamford Police Department’s Rescue Bear program.  After raising the money, the scouts pitched in further to construct the actual teddy bears at Build-a-Bear in Trumbull.
