Webelos Fall Camporee

Attention all 2nd Year Webelos Dens interested in attending the Fall Camporee on the weekend of October 21-23,2011,at the Putnam Memorial State Park in Redding CT.

“Connecticut’s Valley Forge…” Putnam Memorial State Park,is the oldest state park in Connecticut. Located on the site of the Winter Encampment of General Israel Putnam’s Continental troops from December 1778 –May 1779,the park is dedicated to the role they played in the Revolutionary War in helping secure America’s independence.

2nd Year Webelos Dens are eligible to camp with a host troop on October 22-23,2011 Check-in/Registration 12:00 Noon — Program 1:00 PM.

Fee is $10 for each Webelos/Adult Partner pair plus the cost of food with the host troop.

Second Year Webelos (boys in the 5th Grade) are welcome to attend the
Powahay District Boy Scout Fall Camporee and camp with a host Troop.
October 22-23,2011 Check-in/Registration 12:00 Noon — Program 1 PM (Bring a bag lunch.)
 Cost:$10.00/Webelos and Parent ($5.00 each). Includes camping and program fees. Troops may charge an additional
fee for meals. Bring a bag lunch.
 Program:Webelos can join in an afternoon fun of Camporee activities,camping overnight and earn requirements
towards completing the Arrow of Light Award. More information will be emailed to leaders.
 Host Troop Notice:The purpose of this campout is to allow Webelos to camp with a troop that they may be interested in
joining. Not all of our troops may elect to attend the camporee and we cannot guarantee arranging a host troop for your
Webelos. If your joining Troop is not attending,you may want to see if they can offer an alternative campout to attend.
Guidelines:
1. Webelos Dens must camp and eat all meals with a host troop and are not permitted to camp or cook on their own.
2. This is for 5th grade Webelos only. Younger siblings or Cub Scouts not permitted.
3. Webelos should be camping with a parent/guardian or a parent-approved adult following Youth Protection Tenting
guidelines.

Cub Scout Field Day “Salute to the Military”

Chariot Races!

The Powahay District Cub Scout Activities Committee invites you to join us for an afternoon of fun events saluting the US Armed Forces and all the men and women that serve our country in the military. We’ve got a great afternoon of fun activities planned including a BB Gun Range. We’re also working on a “Touch an Army Truck” station,VFW Drill Team Presentation,and a chance for all of our Cub Scouts to send a “Care Package” to our men and women serving in the Military.

For Packs that have a BALOO Trained Adult can camp overnight providing their own meals and evening programs.

Who:All Cub Scouts and their families.
Cost:$10 per Cub and One adult partner (includes Patch and program supplies). Additional boys or parents $5.00

Scout Day at Limerock!

Awesome racing action

Pack 48’s favorite camping trip of the year!  This year I will volunteer to arrive super early and tape off an are for our Pack in a good location.

Scout Day at Lime Rock is a great way to welcome all your Scouts back to the program after the summer. Plan to spend Sept. 30-Oct. 1,2011 camping at Lime Rock Park and thrilling to a day at the races.

Friday night camping and racing all day Saturday,9 a.m. –5 p.m. at Lime Rock Park in Lakeville,CT —this is the perfect event to start your unit’s Scouting year or a fun fall weekend for the family.

Boy Scouts/Adults:$14
Cub Scouts/Siblings (under 10):$7

Fee includes an event patch,Friday night camping,Friday night adult social,and Saturday races.

Deadline for mailing out tickets is September 22,2011.

Tickets may be available after this date but will need to be picked up at the Milford Scout office.

Webelos II should plan to camp with Troop 9

Troop 9 has invited our Webelos II scouts to camp with them during the Fall Camporee October 22 and 23.  The boys will need to attend a Troop meeting before hand.  Yohan has the details on this.
